Lecture Concert: “The Aesthetics of Tempo Rubato”
Why do performers add tempo fluctuations or shift timing in their playing?
Through performances and discussions, we will explore the role and possibilities of tempo rubato in musical expression.
The first session will focus on works by C.P.E. Bach and Mozart, while the second will center on pieces from the Romantic period onward.
